In December 2021, once again the Magic of Milly team were overwhelmed by the incredible generosity of others in our quest to provide emergency ‘kits’ for the parents of children who find themselves in the PICU over the festive period.
Quite often, parents and carers will turn up at the hospital in a rush with a very poorly child, having given no thought to how long they might be there, or what they might practically need.
So the Magic of Milly team put together these boxes full of helpful basics, such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, a hairbrush, sanitary pads, face wipes, tissues and deodorant and many more other bits and bobs!
We also delivered soft blankets to the ward so that each patient’s bed could have some soft and colourful comfort, children’s books for a range of ages from baby to young adult, and also plenty of pyjama sets for the children to change into.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we weren’t allowed to visit the ward in person this year, but the PICU team met us outside to collect all of our boxes and once again we’ve received some wonderful feedback on how well they were received.
This time of year can be a really difficult period for many families, so we’re so grateful to all those that donated and purchased items to be part of our Christmas campaign. Thank you!
The Magic of Milly team are very excited to announce that this September will see the return of the Rainbow Ball! This elegant and fun evening will be hosted at The National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire on Saturday 30th September ...
