Wishes

Milly’s mom, Emma, shares her wishes here for the Magic of Milly and all the fundraising activities held in Milly’s name:

1) My first wish is to help provide medical equipment and skills to the paediatric intensive care unit to help children get well and get home. We have already helped provide an additional CFAM machine in 2016 and additional equipment for ECLS. With the mounting costs being faced by the NHS I hope to provide some of the equipment they require which isn’t funded by the government.

2) My second wish is that I hope to continue to raise awareness of the specialist teams at BCH and promote the fantastic work of these exceptional professionals. This will be done in Milly’s memory as the Magic of Milly.

3) My third wish is that I would like to be able to support Dr Barney Scholefield and his research team with the ever growing need for further research and patient studies. The work the research team do with parents and families is essential in improving future care for families at BCH.

4) My fourth wish is that I hope to reach my fundraising goal of £100,000 in 2018, and once I’ve reached this goal progress to my next goal of £250,000.

5) My final goal is to offer support, facilities and services for the families who have entered the doors of BCH but sadly not come out the other side with their child. This as a parent is the worst possible outcome. Bereavement services at BCH are incredible but I want to be able to give these families memories and keep sakes so they can find some light in such a dark place.
