On Saturday 18 July 2021, good friend of the Magic of Milly crew Ben Williams underwent an incredible challenge. On one of the hottest days of the year, measuring at a sweltering 32 degrees, he completed an entire marathon on an indoor rower (known as a ‘water-rower’) in just 2 hours and 45 minutes.
We are so proud of Ben and the dedication he applied to his training, which resulted in him raising £1986 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital in Milly’s name.
To add to this already amazing achievement, Ben’s sub-3hour time was also officially registered with the British Rowing Association, and now sits on a table with the likes of James Cracknell! Well done Ben, and thanks for all those hours swooshing back and forth on your water-rower!
